Themes

Urban Agriculture may contribute to a climate-optimised urban development. Precondition is the development of specific strategies to integrate Urban Agriculture into urban planning including the urban-rural linkages. This effort demands knowledge about existing socio-economic and environmental conditions as well as quality and quantity of natural resources.

Climate variability already imposes pressure on the agricultural sector, additionally climate projections show an aggravation of the climatic situation of the study region affecting population, environment, resources and economy in various ways. The themes presented reflect particular important environmental aspects for the region of North-West Morocco.
